I am an experienced arts manager, literary curator and event producer, with experience in both CEO and Artistic Director roles. I have expertise in the areas of literary programming, arts policy and strategy, collaborations and partnerships, audience development and community engagement
I have worked in the arts for more than 20 years, with a focus on supporting writers and writing. I have worked in small, medium and large organisations, both in Australia and internationally. I have strong strategic skills, and have a particular expertise and interest in developing innovative business models for the arts.
I have been an arts producer for ABC television, the co-director of the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, the Director of Writers SA, and am now the owner of the wonderful Blackwood Books.
I have sat on many judging, assessment and arts advisory committees, including Adelaide Writers’ Week and the Australian Short Story Festival, and I am currently the fiction convener for the Adelaide Festival Literature Awards. I have been a peer assessor for the Australia Council for the Arts, Arts South Australia, Carclew, and the Australia Council’s Governance Reference Group in 2016.
In 2015 I was a recipient of an Australia Council for the Arts Artistic Leadership Grant to explore literary communities in Malaysia and Singapore, and I am very fortunate to be part of their Arts Leaders Program.
